Farmland yields to major wetland (BBC News) (1 Viewer)

Big piece on 'Farming Today' this morning on Radio 4 about it: v funny - NFU aren't happy about it at all, and even started having a go about RSPB endangering the red data passerines (Corn Bunts) already there!!

Presumably one of their members sold it to the RSPB.;)

...and got a very good price for it before it flooded naturally.

The BBC report stated that Black-winged Stilts had never bred in the UK, obviously one of the deliberate mistakes which always go with bird reports in the media.

Landscape-scale Conservation

Bit puzzled as to why the NFU are bothered at all, and since when did they really care about Corn Buntings?

I believe the proposed developments would result in a habitat twice the size of Lakenheath and look what was achieved there! Visionary.
