Common Buzzard or Long Legged Buzzard ? - India (1 Viewer)

Hmmmm! More questions than answers: how to explain barring on red tail in Long-legged (young adult?), compact silhouet looks like Steppe but single picture may be misleading; small coverts light and carpal patch better for Long-legged though (and I have no experience with eastern Buteo including japonicus)
still looks better for Steppe to me but not sure

All the LLB’s I’ve seen are rather long-winged and rather eagle like. This individual appears to be quite short-winged and steppe like.

Thank u all. What are your thoughts about this one?
This is a different individual to the one above.
