Sandpiper. Baird's or what ? Mauritania (2 Viewers)

Seen last Friday on the edge of waste water pools (non-saline) near Nouakchott.

The bird on the right is a little stint which was good to compare against. The bird on the left is flatter, squatter. It has a slightly longer bill. The black lore is almost broken by a paler area. The tail looks attentuated. The breast band looks quite dense. The mantle has dark elements.

I have never seen a Baird's sandpiper but could it be one? if not then what? I dont really see dunlin in this.

all help gratefully received as ever.

Rob
