Most of ours are a little drab when compared to this colorful, jewel-like bird. Thanks for sharing the photo.

Even the drab ones look like gems to my eyes!!! I'm thinking, for example, of the Brown Violetear (mostly brown, but what a beautiful creature it is!!! ).

I don't think your North American hummingbirds are drab, Lisa, they lack some "ornaments" (like the ones found in the Coquettes) but they are colourful and gorgeous!!!

It is a beautiful pic of your delightful neightbour, Patricia!!! Thank you very much for posting it here!!!
