mixed grp of wagtails/pipits in flooded field north of qe2 car park.
roughly 20 wagtails pied +1 grey 15+ pipits. Am terrible on pipit id (not easy) i assume they were all medow pipits, but didnt have scope, so couldnt pick through them. May go back and look at them later, if i can be bothered. I find pipit id, a bit boring tbh.

Cheeky!
'ere! Davy Tee! My patch! On a day when I was grounded by my conscience! (long story, don't ask!) And you 'bag' a Kingfisher! Never had one there before - EVER! Where was it?

Kingfisher was on far side of pond, north i think, Where there are wooden posts forming a line the Kingfisher was low sitting on a reed mace on the bank behind them. Very nice indeed.

Very sad indeed Steve enjoyed watching it over the last few months. Dead Otter at Arcot as well on the side of the road.

Water Pipit still showing well at St Marys end of prom under Pitch and Putt links also Grey Wagtail and Pied Wagtail. Plenty of Sanderling, Dunlin, Redshank, Oyster Catchers and a fine ariel display of Golden Plover over the lighthouse. Good morning birding with canny crack with some of the regulars.

Maybe a strange question but how does one comment on someones Blog do you need to be a blog owner yourself. Any ideas ?

you have to sacrifice your eldest child, by the light of a waning moon, to the god BLog.

Davy it depends on how the blog owner has set up comments, some will for example allow anonomous comments which do not require a google account others wont. A google account and profile can be setup without actually starting your own blog and it is free.

Detective?
Water Pipit - The Movie. Filmed by a man called Tim. But there's a woman's voice too. So Davy Tee is really a Lay-dee?
Davina Tee? And that's what took you to Arcot last weekend? ![]()

South Pacific
Woodhornbirder - never seen a Pacific Diver but the chin strap is a good clue, so I am told. Have a look at this and you can see it.
http://www.birdguides.com/iris/pictu...2&r=1&st=0&q=0 I am no expert regarding neck size etc. Whilst I am on, birdforum readers, what type of habitat would a Cetti's Warbler be found in? Several across the country today so there must be some up here, I would guess.

Cettis lurk around in the bottoms of bushes on the edge of reedbeds and in flooded ditches and the like, then when you think it's nice and peaceful they scare the crap out of you with a sudden and deafening burst of song right next to where you are standing.
Then they slink away into deep cover for a good laugh. Last edited by Barred Wobbler : Saturday 21st November 2009 at 19:09. |

Some fantastic Shovelers on the Village Hotel pond. Drakes in full colour. This place might turn up something interesting.
