I happened to download this application the other day. It claims to be
Quote:
computer maintenance program for tuning up the Microsoft® Windows® registry, removing accumulated temporary and other junk files, and verifying your security settings
Given that I had it downloaded, I allowed it to run a scan, and predictably, it found a lot of what it calls errors. Is it worth paying for this, is there another better alternative (preferably free), and do I even need to bother?

thanks
Niels

I think registry cleaners are dangerous. They rarely do much good, and quite often munge the system. I would avoid them. Jeff, the programmer of Birder's Diary rails against them, and that accords with my experience.
