Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 8x26?

I just noticed that Bushnell expanded the Ultra HD lineup to include the 8x26 model. I am not aware of any other ED glass compact under $100. Anyone tinker with them yet? Besides the extremely narrow field of view I don't see anything not to like.

Frank,
I wonder if the copywriter got carried away on that one. On the Bushnell website no mention is made of ED glass in the 8x26. On the website HD refers to the Rainguard coatings while "ED Prime" refers to the glass. The bigger HD models tout ED glass, the 8x26 doesn't.

I don't think Bushnell did a thing to the old 8x26 Legend reverse porro other than give it a new name and a different armoring pattern. I had a pair and they were not very impressive, and were virtually identical in performance/looks to the Alpen Apex Shasta Ridge. For the money the Nikon 8x25 Prostaff is a much better bino.

You gentlemen may be right but I did a google search before posting and found many retailers, such as B and H photo offering the ED glass version.

If you go to the Bushnell website and click on the Legends, as you select each model the features are listed, both in writing and pictorally. The 8x26 has the same features it has always had and does not show ED glass. All the roof prism models show ED glass. Any one who copies the generic Bushnell overview blurb will show them as having ED glass - but the 8x26 & 10x26 RP don't have it.

Same on the 7x26 Elite e2 reverse porro, 620726, and the 8/10x42 Elite roofs.

I didn't realize until after I'd placed the order on Amazon.
