Eyepiece problem!
Hi,
Today, whist vis-migging, I noticed a nasty little cloud of condensation inside my 20-60 Swaro eyepiece! I did get the scope wet yesterday, but the lens cover was in place and it was only whilst carrying it to and from an hide. I assume I'll have to send this off to Swarovski. Trouble is I bought this in 2003 and have no idea where my warranty card is, though I did buy the scope and eyepiece together so may have a receipt somewhere. As anyone had to return any Swaro stuff recently? If so what kind of turn around period are we talking?I understand they are usually pretty efficient with the aftersales, and have sent out courtesy equipment before. I'll give them a ring beforehand. I'm off to the Canaries in a few days and could really do with it, so I'm hoping the nice warm weather over there won't cause a repeat. But then I'm thinking hmmm, pressurised cabin? I do have a 30X fixed to put me on, and I was pleasantly surprised how good this was after not using it for a few years. Kind regards Russ |

Dale Forbes from Swaro usually reads these threads andI'm sure will give a comprehensive answer. Going on past posts it seems two to three weeks turn round for items. E-mail them from their website as they always answer queries very promptly.
Good luck, Dave |

I had a Swaro 20-60x previously, and dropped it once, leaving a chip on the ocular. I sent it to Swaro (via the store where it had been bought) and they repaired it for a nominal sum, turnaround two weeks.
A friend had fogging in his eyepiece, and Swaro repaired it without warranty card, etc. |

I said that it could just be that rain leaked between the ocular and the telescope body and that there is now some humidity between the two (independently waterproof) components so opening it up, drying it out, and cleaning the seal would solve the problem.
If the moisture is inside either the ocular or main body then it would need to be opened, cleaned and re-sealed. Happy birding Dale |

Hi Dale,
Unfortunately the problem reoccured in Tenerife in 25 degree heat! Just as I was attempting to sketch a very accommodating osprey! I assume there's something amiss inside. You've probably already told me this but could you please direct me to the person I would need to speak to regarding having it re-sealed? Kind regards Russ |

Hi,
I've just got my eyepiece back from Swaro. It took exactly 14 days. No grumbles here at all. Well done Swaro! Not been out in the elements with it yet, though! Cheers |
