Indecisive on this one. Was with a flock of mostly male Red-wing BB's.

Agree that it's a Rusty, but I'm not convinced it's a female. I'd wager it's a male.

Inclined to agree with assessment of female Rusty based on what was seen and photo'd today. Bit despondent over water being drawn down as fowling season comes to close. Commercial aggricultural operations that controls publicly owned enviroment pictured will be eliminated, birds left high and dry.

1-Essentially same as pictured in first post.Different posture,sensor,lens,lighting,distance.
What was generally seen and not in pic though.
2-Confident is adult male Rusty

I think the glossy black feathers in your first photo suggest otherwise.
