Elder budding in north Norfolk

Is this early, or what ?

Late May is when they're supposed to flower.

Anyone else with similar ?

That DOES seem unusually early - up here in Northumberland they're still tightly shut! Are there a few individual bushes opening up or is it just the one?

In the Chilterns there is the odd bush or two at this stage - no doubt encouraged by recent mild temperatures & lengthening photoperiod.

It's several sprigs on the one bush, Gill.

They seemed to have stalled, last weekend- remaining in a state of suspended eldermation.
