Agelaius tricolor Or Not?

I saw this bird at my feeder a couple days ago and a friend from southern California thought that I should check to see if it is an Agelaius tricolor. What do you think?

sorry Curt,
The Tricolored is a Pacific Bird so range alone would exclude this. Someone more expert than me would have to give an explanation to the subtle differences between them.

I've just looked up some stuff and the Tricoloured had adark red shoulder patch with white edge, can be buff in fall, and the Red winged has an orange red shoulder patch with yellowish whitish lower edge
