2012- My Bird, Butterfly and Beast list in Canada
New Years Day,
With winds swirling outside and in my head wearily went out birding. First birds of the year, 1.House Sparrow(eight seen while waiting for the bus) 2.American Crows(25 gathered in a back lane for some reason) 3.Rock Pigeon Specifically went downtown in my city to twitch White-throated Sparrows which I found.Had to wade through a gauntlet of panhandlers though! 4.White-throated Sparrows(four seen) Then went to twitch another rarity a Red-bellied Woodpecker. No luck at the Witches Hut,but did get a nice bird for Manitoba! 5.White-winged Crossbill Also here were, 6.House Finch 7.White-breasted Nuthatch 8.Black-capped Chickadee 9.Downy Woodpecker 10.Hairy Woodpecker 11.Common Redpoll |
