Snow Geese morphing into Mergus merganser...only after ''I blew the smoke from my Colt 45..and put my specs on :)

I was thinking Hooded Merganser - they are certainly sawbills, beyond that it gets tricky

I think they're either Common or Red-breasted Mergansers. Not sure Hooded would ever show the white in the face or such red bills.

My initial impression is of Red-breasted Mergansers and I still favour that. It's a bit hard to be sure though!

Yes you are right.. I was shooting from the hip and basing it on apparent structure.
