I realize the default loon in Florida is Common but perhaps someone might elucidate why the loon is that species. It may be the distance, the quality of the photo, or my monitor but the bird does not seem to fit the plumage (especially about the head) or structure of Common Loon.

The bird may appear strange because it's in transition plumage (molt between breeding/nonbreeding). The head shape is what makes me think Common over others (besides range). The head is too proportionate for Red-throated, Pacific, and Arctic, and the bill is too skinny for Yellow-billed.
Also, you can see that black "necklace" starting to come in.
