Sooty-capped Hermit

Attached is an image of a Sooty Capped Hermit nest with 2 chicks. This nest was in the grounds of Cas Maria - Venezuela. Norbert Flauger a renowned and respected entomologist owns Casa Maria and allowed us access to his grounds were these birds breed. We caused no discomfort to the birds and can happily report that both birds fledged during our stay. We were in the nest area on a daily basis as the nest was in his car parking lot and never caused any problem I hope this image can be added to the Opus sight for this species Regards Dave Last edited by Bananafishbones : Saturday 28th April 2012 at 11:06.
