Nice shots PBL.

Surely you get at least triple points for the Leucistic one?

Good work. A look of Gigrin Farm about the collection? The leucistic one is a bit of luck - its never there when I visit!

Cheers

I have been putting some effort into the challenge over the last few days. I will put a full account of the trip on Vacational trips as there was a lot more to it than just BOP, so here are the relevant photos:

1-3 Red-footed Falcon (the late Derbyshire bird)
4-5 Ospreys at Loch of the Lowes

A most sporting response!

I have to say I have really enjoyed this spring's bird of prey photography and if we hadn't been competing I would probably not have justified going to the Hebs for the Snowy even to myself, so I thank you for provoking me into some of the best birding I've ever had.

Good luck with the driving test!

Yesterday I took advantage of lovely evening sunshine to visit the local Barn Owls, whose four chicks are just fledging. They didn't disappoint, and a flyover Kestrel chose just the right route as well.

If you want to see some more peregrines I have a family of 5 (2 adults 3 chicks) living on the church 50 yards from my house (Nottingham NG4)

Chicks well fledged now and on the 20th June to the skies for the first time

We get some wonderful displays and over the weekend had 4 birds in flight.

The youngsters being a little less experienced return at a lower angle than the adults and often just skim the top of my house as they come in.

Had a great scene last night with all five birds sitting on the ramparts

Oh, bliss

An improved Red Kite in the New Forest and an escaped Harris Hawk at Elmley, just to keep the interest going.

I had hoped to have Hen Harrier and Merlin by now but they may have to wait for the autumn or early winter. Honey Buzzard seems out of the question in the South this year - weather!

Havent been birding in a while as my main hobby has started again for the year leaving me with very little time, but its very enjoyable. It links in with your second picture. Perhaps you could post on the falconry forum the location so someone can collect it :) will be trying for hen harrier later this year but everything else will from now on have to be coincidal with my day outs :(

Its been there years, I doubt it would take kindly to attempts to capture it.

Good luck with HH.

People haven't tried to get it back for years, and as it is on a reserve they don't have free access anyway. A single escaped hawk isn't an issue.
