My first impression is LB due to straight bill and attenuated posterior with a dip. Plumage is in rough shape and I so would appreciate confirmation or any help with field marks seen,

Long billed for me (bill looks too long for SB)

Looks more like a Short-billed to me.

Short-billed for me too. The black and gold upperparts and spotted breast sides amongst other features...

Short-billed for me.

I calculate the bill-to-head ratio to be 1.6:1. Minimum for LBDO is 1.7:1

The loral angle also appears to be high, although I didn't actually measure it.

Some good tips on identification here and here.

The easiest way to tell them apart is to listen for them to call.
