Still quite a number of Swifts near me...But I'm guessing there going to be on there way soon! Always sad when your local swifts go. I find them great birds to watch high up in the sky!

I think they have left Alnwick now

I had a couple screaming on Saturday morning but none since. LOTS of House Martin whizzing and burping around but surprisingly no swallows. Only ones I saw yesterday where flying alongside the A1 as I drove down to Cramlington. I noticed a few, very few, brown leaves starting to gently drift down to earth too

We still had a good few around the estuary yesterday. Might go now though with the change in weather.

A single swift at Elton Reservoir this morning, probably the first for around a week. Could it be the last one of the year?

Most, if not all, seem to have gone from my street in Aberdeen over the last couple of days.

Two more through Elton Reservoir this morning but definitely ploughing south into a headwind so obviously not local birds.

Hot (for Central Scotland) and humid today. Swifts and hirundines feeding along the advancing thunder clouds this morning but still 4 swifts above my house this evening.

Haven't seen any around the neighbourhood for at least a couple of weeks but there are lots on the nearby flood-meadow still, feeding alongside the House Martins.

My local flock in Dundee usually leave around the 7th or 8th, but there were still a few birds around until Saturday this year. I hadn't seen them since, so thought they'd departed. However, I did hear screaming and see 4 this morning while waiting for the bus to work. It could be coincidence, but I suspect they are still the stragglers of "my" flock.
Just looked out my window and there are at least 3 still flying around out there tonight. Summer is hanging on......

Saw one near Dunleer, Co Louth yesterday while on the way to a sea watch at Clogherhead.
Possibly still around patch or local town. Shall check it out later.

Still plenty about the skies of Inverness. Swallows low over the fields by Tesco and swifts out over the river up high.
