Birding for Devils

The wild population of Tasmanian Devil has been reduced to less than 15% of its pre-epidemic population in just a few years, due to Devil Facial Tumour Disease.
There is no end in sight.
However, http://www.birdingfordevils.com.au/ is an iniative to support Devil Ark, which is making significant progress to save this iconic species from extinction.
Have a look, subscribe and support this important work. It's a great example of how the birding community can have far reaching positive effects for the worlds biodiversity.
Imagine a world without Tasmanian Devils, and please spread the word.

Pretty grim news for the devils... I hope things turn out ok. IIRC they suffered a similar mysterious die-off 100 years ago, but I bet there were more of them to start with then.

Things are looking positive thanks to the folk at Devil Ark who are also doing the Birding for Devils.
I think John is likely to break the Australian Big Year record, and all in a great cause.
Keep an eye on the birding for Devils blog to see how he goes, and do chip in for the Tasmanian Devil, they're very sweet really.
