Blue Boy 44 is certainly giving the LoL Staff the run-around!!
Lots of good wishes to them, now that they have the satellite data and are trying to locate him.

Maybe he takes after his mother for adventurous genes.

Clever Mum!! She really is an amazing bird, and when we remember what she went through, it shows how resilient birds can be!

Hi Redfinch

I suppose it's quite likely, her job is done really.

Hopefully Tiger will be along soon with some Stats for us.

Thanks Tiger... I knew you'd come up with the info for us.

As you say, right on cue, really.

Let's hope she has a safe journey.

It means that even if I do manage to come, I shan't see her :-(

I was looking for dates too. I knew it seemed to be around this time.

Always feel a bit of emptiness when she's leaves. God speed and safe travels, my Lady. We all will be anticipating your return. She sure leaves a beautiful, healthy chick and dad seems to be taking care of him the best he can.

Thanks Kawwauser.

Strange I thought he was long gone LOL. It'll be interesting to follow his route, won't it.

Gosh! Blue Boy is now in France having hopped across the Channel on a short to to Dieppe.

But the Angus chick (Blue YD) took the longer crossing from Plymouth to Brest and is now in the middle of the Bay of Biscay.

Is that route not a bit risky?

No not at all. Ospreys can fly vast distances over the ocean.

Thanks Tiger. I thought I'd heard a few had been downed over the bay. There's no news of him at the moment, but Blue Boy is well south now, probably in Spain.

There was one a long time ago that just fell short of the Spanish coast. They are often mobbed by gulls and other birds. The bird in question was T09 in 2000

Thanks Tiger - I knew you'd know the real story!

I looked at the map an hour ago and it hadn't been updated, but I see it has been now.

It looks like Blue Boy has stopped off for a rest, while Blue YD has made it to Spain, a bit of a relief, I must say.

Isn't it interesting following their different routes, though I suppose they'll both follow more or less the same direction from now on.

What do you mean by hasn't moved? No points or the tracker has stayed in the same place?
