To me it’s a waiting game, accessing the conditions – light, position and a realistic chance of achieving my aims. A lot of the time I walk away, without recording my intended target, mainly through light deterioration.

I want and get pin-sharp images, which do not need hours of adjustment in Photoshop. I may only record one bird, with as little a 10 useable images, but I accept that.

Everybody has different aims and ambitions, which you can’t criticise, walking around firing off the camera like a machine gun is not for me, I don’t want blurry images covered in a battleship grey cast.
+1...

The first D4s have arrived in Hong Kong. One of my favorite stores called me with the news that they had 1. I went and had a quick look at it but still decided to wait for the D800 which is due on the 22nd March.

Without habitat, there is no wildlife. It's that simple.
