Duck at Attenborough, Nottinghamshire August 2011
Hi - just clearing down my camera and found this, taken August 2011 at Attenborough nature reserve, Nottinghamshire.
I have seen the escaped White Cheeked Pintail previously at the same site - is this the same bird? thanks in advance Michael |

Yep. I have the pleasure of having the site as my local patch and there are about 8 resident birds.

Many thanks to all for this, not seen one of these before. I thought that being a generally a winter visitor this species wouldn't be likely in August in Nottinghamshire! Although having read up a little I understand there are a few established populations around. I have been to Attenborough quite a lot as well as my in-laws live nearby.
However my daughter is going to be a little annoyed as she saw a couple in Belgium in March and thought I wouldn't see one! many thanks Michael |
