if wingtips are as short as i see them this can be only a chiffchaff.

Hi Lou,
thanks for helping. I see like you, but I wonder is this feature is reliable for such a young bird with primaries potentially not yet fully grown...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/melanis...9826/lightbox/ this is a typical fresh young willow warbler. by the end of august i think it is not likely that primaries are still growing.
could it actually be an adult chiffchaff? with such a messy plumage it seems in active body and head moult!
