Long Valley (Hong Kong) info

I shall be visiting Hong Kong for a few days in February and hope to do some bird photography during this time.
I am already planning to visit Mai Po and Hong Kong Wetlands Park but am looking for a couple of other sites which may be good during this period.
I have seen Long Valley mentioned as a good site but would appreciate any additional info regarding getting to or visiting the site.
I have already checked the Hong Kong BWS website but as I will probably be travelling by Taxi a more detailed map to show the Driver would be very helpful.
In addition if anyone can point me to where I can print off directions written in Chinese for the driver this would make things a lot easier.
How long should I allow for a visit 2 hrs , full day ? - If its a shorter visit can it be combined with another site nearby maybe ?
I was also hoping to visit one of the Islands but suspect these may not be so good in February.
If this is the case can anyone recommend any other sites that are good in February and easy to get to by Taxi ( Any additional info / directions, maps etc ) greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

For directions and ideas for where to bird I suggest get hold of David Diskin's book:

Hong Kong Nature Walks:The New Territories.

It can be ordered here: http://www.hknaturewalks.com/

To go to Long Valley you need to go to Yin Kong village, which in Chinese is:

燕崗村

Cheers
Mike

Thanks for the Info Mike, very helpful and much appreciated.
I shall be staying in Nathan Road (Kowloon) and think my first objective will be to try and find a stockist that has the book you have suggested.
I have tried to obtain a similar book in the UK without any luck so will make this a priority as soon as I get to Hong Kong.
