My list swelled rapidly when I took a trip to Turkey with Steve Lister. His amazing skills at picking out birds, knowing their calls certainly gobsmacked me and his knowledge helped in getting me quite a few birds I would have struggled with.
103 new birds for the year has brought my years total to 315. Here is the list of new birds seen. Pelicans White Pelican Cormorants Pygmy Cormorant Herons and Egrets Little Bittern Black-crowned Night Heron Squacco Heron Cattle Egret Great Egret Purple Heron Storks Black Stork White Stork Ibises and Spoonbills Glossy Ibis Spoonbill (Eurasian) Flamingos Greater Flamingo Swans, Geese and Ducks Ruddy Shelduck Red-crested Pochard Hawks, Vultures and Eagles Levant Sparrowhawk Lesser Spotted Eagle Lammergeier (Lifer) Griffon Vulture Long-legged Buzzard Honey-buzzard (European) Black Kite Egyptian Vulture Short-toed Eagle Pallid Harrier Golden Eagle Falcons Eleonora’s Falcon Partridges, Quails and Pheasants Chukar Caspian Snowcock (Lifer) See See Partridge (Lifer) Black Francolin (Lifer) Rails Purple Swamp-hen Little Crake Coursers and Pratincoles Collared Pratincole Plovers and Lapwings Spur-winged Lapwing (Lifer) Kentish Plover Sandpipers and Allies Temminck’s Stint Marsh Sandpiper Skuas Arctic Skua Gulls Caspian Gull Armenian Gull (Lifer) Slender-billed Gull Terns Gull-billed Tern Caspian Tern Whiskered Tern White-winged Tern Sandgrouse Black-bellied Sandgrouse (Lifer) Pigeons Laughing Dove Rock Dove Nightjars Nightjar (European) Swifts Alpine Swift Little Swift (Lifer) Kingfishers White-breasted Kingfisher Pied Kingfisher (Lifer) Bee-eaters Bee-eater (European) Rollers Roller (European) Hoopoe Woodpeckers Syrian Woodpecker (Lifer) Larks Calandra Lark Short-toed Lark Lesser Short-toed Lark Crested Lark Shore Lark Swallows Crag Martin (Eurasian) Red-rumped Swallow Pipits and Wagtails Tawny Pipit Citrine Wagtail (lifer) Shrikes Masked Shrike Red-backed Shrike Lesser Grey Shrike Woodchat Shrike Accentors Radde's Accentor (Lifer) Chats and Thrushes Finsch's Wheatear (Lifer) Bluethroat Black Redstart Isabelline Wheatear Black-eared Wheatear Rock Thrush Blue Rock Thrush Warblers Great Reed Warbler Graceful Prinia (Lifer) Menetries's Warbler (Lifer) Old World Flycatchers Spotted Flycatcher Tits Sombre Tit Nuthatches Eastern Rock Nuthatch (Lifer) Western Rock Nuthatch Treecreepers Short-toed Treecreeper Buntings and New World Sparrows Cirl Bunting Rock Bunting Ortolan Bunting Black-headed Bunting Finches Snowfinch (Lifer) Desert Finch (Lifer) Red-fronted Serin (Lifer) Serin (European) Crossbill (Common) Sparrows Chestnut-shouldered Sparrow (Lifer) Dead Sea Sparrow (Lifer) Spanish Sparrow Rock Sparrow Old World Orioles Golden Oriole (Eurasian) Jays, Crows and Magpies Alpine Chough (Lifer) Hooded Crow John

Had a few days in Cornwall. Fantastic weather, not a cloud in the sky for four days. No good for birds though as virtually all the migrants seem to have flown. I added two for the year.
216. Spotted Sandpiper 217. Yellow-browed Warbler. That makes 320 if you include Turkeys new year birds.

I saw a red crested Pochard at Carsington Water three weeks agon and forgot to add it to the list. Also went down to a friends in South wales and called into Porthcawl in the hope of seeing some of these storm blown Leache's Petrels. I managed to see 5+ straight away.
218 Red-crested Pochard 219. Leache's Petrel
