Grafham Water 8 Oct morning: juv Black tern still at the dam and then back to Littless Creek as per previous day. A single Dunlin on the dam and 2 Green Sandpipers in Littless creek. 2 Peregrines at the west end making a lot of noise.
 
Late news of Firecrest just one minute from my office; the wonders of technology we have nowadays to report news as it happens, or not....
 
Scaup reports at Grafham? There is still the hybrid male around with the Tufted ducks ; are there any photos of the bird currently being seen?

It was seen on both days by Colin Addington - who has also seen the hybrid previously - but no photos that I know of, so I cannot comment any further than that
 
Grafham Water 9 Dec: finally caught up with the Great Northern Diver today; around the entrance to Savages Creek seemed to be the best place. A few Redshanks around the dam of interest plus 300 plus Golden Plovers in the area but not located in the fields yet.
 
Grafham Water 10 Dec; 2 Common Scoters off Mander Carpark mid pm. 5 Goosanders at the fishing lodge harbour. The GND not observed though conditions awful.....
 
Grafham Water 24 Dec ; the two Common Scoters still present distantly from everywhere at the west end. A Perigrine late pm gave some interest to a bland gull roost.
 
Grafham Water 25 Dec early am; the 2 Common Scoters still firmly anchored in the most difficult area for close views between Savages creek and Dudney Point. A possible Red-crested Pochard in flight at a mile range at the west end. Six Goosanders in the fishing lodge harbour.
