I've been doing a bit of amateur research into vision and hearing in birds and came across this which I found quite fascinating.
Basically the way it works is to take a sound recording of a bird's song and slow it down 20 or 30 times at which point it somewhat resembles the human voice.
Then get someone to imitate the slowed-down version whilst recording them and then speed up the recording of the human voice 20 or 30 times. The results are pretty amazing!
