Day flying Bat uk (1 Viewer)

Stranger

Well-known member
This morning at 10.15 a.m. at Walton Heath, Somerset.
I noticed a quite large bat hunting insects.
About the size of a Starling it was flying about in and out of the trees just past the Bungalow at the entrance .
I have never seen Bats flying in the daytime before.
Anyone any ideas on what it might be?
3 rubbish photos if they are any help

Unusually with Mike's suggestions, I have my doubts about this. Only the head-on pic looks long-winged and the description says flying in and out of trees (rather than in open sky). Noctules look long-headed and -tailed as well as long-winged, and this doesn't. It just might be a Serotine, which would be about the right size but overall appears more compact than a Noctule.
