First Great-horned Owl (1 Viewer)

Yesterday I found my first Great-horned owl, by following it's persistant hoots until I saw him sitting in a tree. What a great bird! And what a great feeling, finding a bird that way...and a lifer at that! For a few moments I felt like a bonifed birder!

Hi MS,

Nice one! Finding owls is always very rewarding - and something that I still have difficulty with. A great bird as well. In my experience GHOW are the nocturnal owl most likely to make a bolt for it if they see/hear you coming so well done.
