When the strong winds blow

.
Everybody thinks a Spotted Harrier is kinda casual,
and in a perpetual slow cruise,
but when the strong winds blow,
you should see how they move.

Tearing through the sky like a boomerang,
except one that doesn't spin,
sailing head height under full spinnaker,
with that giant shallow V -wing.

Twisting, turning, sliding,
perfectly poised to harness the wind,
they accelerate like top fueller's,
drag racing for the win.

All the woodlands peeps are uneasy,
'cause they know death comes in a high-speed pass,
birds in a mad flapping panic,
critters duck their heads n hide in the grass.

Even the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo's,
with wood deck destroying powerful beaks n claws,
screech randomly through near canopy skies,
'cause of their safety they're none too sure.

Surprise harrier traverses a quarter mile,
in a matter of just mere seconds,
spying a potential meal props air-brakes and dives,
all wonky wings n lanky legs, at sixes and sevens.

Not just confined to gently ruffled fields,
of swaying feathery grass tops, bathed in a golden glow,
but skimming the canopy like a low level jet fighter,
when the strong winds blow.

Barely a foot above the tree-tops,
navigating a high-speed topographic impasse,
like Moses parting waves arms outstretched,
praying, with lifted staff.

Don't falsely hope that lightweight airframe,
will fold like a dodgy deck chair,
when harnessing the raw power,
of that fast flow of forced-induction air.

"Hey little critter" you're in big trouble,
on the menu of a self serve bistro,
if fierce piercing yellow eyes lock onto you,
when the strong winds blow.

Chosun :gh:

I have now owned two the Zen Ray binoculars. The 9x36 is the better to me than the 7x model. The 7x is now in the home of another. That 7x42 is very tempting!
Rob.

Saturday morning? I guess Ron W must be on the other side of the pond, still Friday here in the Colonies. It won't be Saturday morning here for another 29 minutes. Make that 28.
