First trials

These are some of the first trials at home with the new rig. Light is not quite good, distance around 7 meters.

More distant photos, these were taken around 30-40 m away at Alcázar lagoon and other nearby wetlands.

very impressive results indeed.

i do have OM 10 and also like to start digiscoping, so sorry i am too busy to make a study on this to know waht i need to get as an attachment between the camera and the scope, can you please put a photo of your setting so i can just get the picture right in mu mind.

thanks so much.

so i have to have the

1- Modular Objective Lens
2- Spotting Scope Modular Zoom Eyepiece
3- adapter sleeve.
4- eye cap
5- TLS APO Digiscoping Adapter
6- Swarovski Optik T2 Micro 4/3 Camera Adapter

right.

one thing i did not get, when i checked the prices on amazon, is it true that the eyepiece is about 2 290 USD, is it more expensive then the objective lens it self.

another question, as i live here in always sunny days, well the 65 one be Ok, or do i have to go for the more expensive 85 and 95.

Relative to the prices of eyepiece and lens it has to do with the design of the ocular in the ATX. It is really expensive! You can use the TLS-APO with the ATS series, which is fractionally cheaper, but then there are some problems with using the zoom when the TLS is fitted. Also people who have used both say ATX has better quality of image than ATS.

I have not so much experience, but from what I've read in digiscoping a higher ocular diameter is a nearly always a bonus. I would recommend you 85 for digiscoping. ¿Why not then 95 mm? There was a extensive review in a Spanish forum with photos comparing 85mm and 95mm with advantage for the former for digiscoping: less eyepiece diameter was compensated because of less initial x number, so in the in the end f number was more than half point lower for the 85 (f=8'8 vs f=9'4).

Here we have a lot of light (although not as much as you ;))and even using the 85 is not so much as you would like everytime!! If you select 65 lens I think it should be on portability grounds (mountain use etc.) not because of light availability vs price (at this levels of price labels), but please check more opinions!

Hi Saminta,

Yes, you can use it with a lens on DCBII. But you have to test it before, because of the dimensions of lens/camera combination. Some people use it with 20/1.7 - if I remember, I tried it with the 45/1.8 - that was also possible(but close to the limit from the dimension side).

regards,
Mario
