Opticron GS 665 GA ED (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I've been prompted to join Birdforum cos I'm researching all the ED/equivalent 65+mm scopes. Very difficult to find a dealer to put them all side by side without either a long journey or wait. Reviews etc. on the Opticron GS seem non-existent.

Does anyone out there have experience of the ED version of the Opticron 665 GA please? How does it compare to the scopes you know?

Thanks for your help.

HI Buzzard1,

Have never used the scope you quote but I have the ES80 GAED also from Opticron, which I think is a very good scope. Along the line I have owned one or two Opticron scopes and binoculars. All their models I have bought and used seemed to be good value for money. Their aftersales service seems pretty good too. My little Opticron MM2 scope had a knock and this loosened the eyepiece fitting. It was repaired and returned within a couple of weeks at no charge to me.They are not as expensive as Swarovski, Leitz or Zeiss (what I call "the big three") but then again you get what you are prepared to pay for.
