The population of the world is rising and has now reached 7 billion. Within 34 years it is expected to reach 9 billion. There are fears that the world's resources will be insufficient to feed this number of people. There is a need for the major players in the world to agree on a united policy to deal with this growing problem, but agreement seems to be impossible to achieve.
