laying eggs twice in one season?? (1 Viewer)

i posted a few weeks ago about Blackbirds laying eggs in a nest on my window sill. 3 eggs lain, 2 hatched and now fledged.

Is it a common occurance for Blackbirds to lay twice in a season as I now have three eggs in the nest again. They do look the same, so I am assuming it is not an imposted.

PS I live in Australia.

Thx

Nicki

yep they are outside my laundry too, on the window sill though. I REALLY didn't realise they lay more than one clutch. Oh well you learn something new every day! I get all the fun of watching them grow all over again.

Hi Nicki, I have an excellent book giving loads of information about the breeding habits of British and European birds, and I wonder if there is a similar book for Australian birds. Mine is called the Collins Field Guide: Bird Nests, Eggs and Nestlings.
