It would be a pity if you stopped posting. I am by no means an expert in conflict resolution (I am an ecologist, so it feels like it sometimes), but wouldn't it best to respond with a private message to the individual concerned, and then carry on with posts as normal, ignoring the specific individual if you still felt aggrieved ?

Yes Brin, this is probably the best way to handle it. Please remember the old wartime saying: "Careless words cost lives". In your excitement to share your news with others it is easy to forget that third parties with other, less honourable - or legal - agendas may be watching! Never feel obliged to spread the word when it comes to rare breeding birds, or sometimes even rare migrants. No one has a God-given right to know everything; the welfare of the bird(s) concerned should always come first.
