Bird id pakistan (1 Viewer)

Both images are rather small and cannot be 'grabbed' to enlarge for a closer look but the first appears to be an Asian Brown Flycatcher and the second, a prinia sp, probably Graceful Prinia.

My guess would be Red-brested Fly in the first image. The bird looks less bulky than the rather heavy Asian Brown, and the base of the bill doesn't look broad enough. Additionally the breast shows a rather distinct warm wash typically seen in RBF. I also believe the white inner vane of the t6 is visble if you enlarge the image...

I'll pass on image no 2, but obviously a Prinia or Scotocerca. Don't know wich of these to expect in Pakistan, but it looks rather too plain above for Graceful (but perhaps due to light).

Hi Magnus,

You could be right, the problem with small images! I noted the warmth to the UP's of the first, perhaps reflective? As I can't enlarge, I cannot see the white inner vane, I'll take your word for it. Structurally, it would be at the 'thinner' end for Brown, so I'd happily swing toward RBF providing I could see a bigger image..

With the Prinia, same problem for me, a lack of enlargement, interestingly, my other choice would have been Plain, but without seeing clearly, I plumped for, perhaps the wrong one!

thanks all for the replies on this....before i cant do much with the photo as its not mine....would love to hear from some more ideas ....before...."naming" them lol
