Little Herring gull (1 Viewer)

Any opinions about herring gull which was smaller in size of normal herring gull, he was close to group of mew gulls but looked bigger than others. His legs looked short and yellow and bill heavy. Pictures was taken today in Kaunas, Lithuania.

no, it's a herring gull allright, a herring gull with yellowish legs; even the white head is no good indicator here since quite some baltic HG show white head by december. legs are extremely short and robust, iris very pale (whitish), head and bill bill shape and whort wings more in line with argentatus. just to add that michahellis is excluded by the length of ventral white tongue in the outermost primary.
