Telephoto confusion (1 Viewer)

I have a Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM Lens and I would like to a bit more reach.

I am torn between

Sigma 150-600 C

Tamron 150-6000

or may be a second hand Canon 100-400 like this as some reviews imply that this could be almost as good

or maybe a teleconverter

This will be used mainly with a Canon 350 D or Canon 550D for birds/mammals any ideas?

So far I think the Sigma 150-600mm is what I am going for but I can get a Tamron 150-600 mm for £400 on ebay. Is the sigma worth £200 more?

Or maybe I can't get better which will still autofocus without a new camera.
Can people say what they would do?
