Reintroduction of water voles in Kielder Water & Forest Park (1 Viewer)

Conservationists plan to reintroduce this species.

Subject to establishing that Mink are no longer a threat. Its all very well for rangers to say sightings are down but that could reflect any of a number of factors. It could also be the case that by driving Water Voles to local extinction Mink caused their own crash, in which case a reintroduction would simply provide them with a free lunch.

It not time to celebrate yet.
