Forgot to mention that a strange sighting from yesterday was this dead mole on the path to the Flashes, just after the Feeding Station Hide. Cant think of any mole hills nearby; perhaps it was dropped by a predator?

There are some recently used mole hills in the transmitter field close to the fence, but partly hidden. They are near to where you were walking and they could be the source of your mole.

Hi Des

Two House Martin flew through high over Hen pool towards the Moors at 16.50 (JS & RWP) and a Swallow (JHWR) flew through the flashes at 17.15. JHWR also picked up a Peregrine over the sailing lake making towards the BBC towers. There were five Gadwall on the flashes at 17.00 a male and two pairs - same as moors earlier?

(Lots of Small Tortoiseshells and Peacocks today also Brimstone, Holly Blue and Orange Tip.)

John

New for the year ( #103) - House Martin

spring All-Dayer

The date has been confirmed as Saturday 25th APRIL, Steve Nuttall has confirmed Belvide will be participating. I have spoken to Brian at Grimley, Nik at Marsh Lane and Geoff at Middleton they are going to see what they can sort. Phil can you have a word with Sandwell.

The reason for the change is that Upton Boys are on tour in Greece on the 1st Saturday in May. B :)
