ID dove on coin (1 Viewer)

Can you please ID what species of crested dove / pigeon/ fowl is on this coin....some comments have suggested india or australia crested dove.

If you can please review...thanks

A dove with an olive branch in its beak is a reference to Genesis 8:11.

(Just one of many ancient Mediterranean uses of olives as a symbol of prosperity and peace, but one that South African minting authorities of 1815 would know well.)

[Edit: seems the "minting authorities" in this case were some missionaries from the London Missionary Society, taking matters into their own hands, if I'm reading the thread Gander linked to correctly. ]
