Hummingbird near Huaraz, Peru

This hummingbird was feeding on flowers near a place called Chavin, a few hours away from Huaraz in the Cordillera Blanca region of Peru. Any idea what species it is? The shots are pretty clear but I know how hard these things are to identify.

Looks a bit like it could be a Woodstar, is Purple-collared in range? (compare: http://www.birdforum.net/opus/Purple-collared_Woodstar)

Looks like a Purple-collared Woodstar to me and I think it's in range. Most other Woodstars have restricted ranges in Peru and are local.

Yes. Myrtis fannyi Purple-collared Woodstar. The short curved bill seperates it from sympatric fem Oasis Hummingbird or female Peruvian Sheartail, and the white tail tips seperates it from rarer considerations such as Little Woodstar or White-belled Woodstar.

Saludos
