found blue jay fledgling (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone,

There was a bluejay fledgling in my driveway yesterday. I am assuming that's what it is, he has some wings but just fuzz on his head and belly still. He hops around and flys the tiniest bit when he wants to jump. I moved him away from the driveway and he hopped across the street and there must be a Robin's next over there because everytime the mom and dad came around, a million Robin's chased them away. I moved him back to my yard. He keeps ending up back in the middle of my driveway.

Now that my car is out of the garage, I don't mind. I put a box on its side with blankets in it and a garbage can lid is propped against it for shelter from the rain and other animals. I put him in the box, although I'm sure he will move again where he isn't safe! Mom and dad still are watching the little guy.

I guess my concern is him staying in the middle of the driveway, or hopping into the street. I attached a pic. How how much longer till he can fly and is safe? He looks healthy, no blood or broken bones.
