Will my tripod hold up a 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM? (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

I was wondering if my Manfrotto 055MF3 can handle the weight of a "50-500mm F4.5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM".

Thank You,

Will do (rated close to 8kg), but I would also worry about the tripod head's abilities and limitations. This is most of the time the weakest link ....

It should be fine .

I think the key is finding the lenses balance point . To me the old style mounts seem more
stable than a ballhead for heavy gear .Longer axis levers , easier to select pan or pitch .
