striking bird from Oregon, USA (1 Viewer)

With these colors and markings, I'm frustrated that I can't figure out what this guy is. A friend sent me these pictures from "an Oregon park" but left me no other information (neither when nor where) besides "not shy". A little help?

This bird is a Pigeon Guillemot - an ocean bird, relative of puffins. Beautiful shots! Surprised that it wasn't seen by the oceanside (let alone in the ocean!) - or was it?

Thanks, Alex! Very clearly so. I'm sure this was a rocky beach, my friend just failed to mention that point.

Guess I can't find my alcids with both hands and a flashlight!

Lol, no prob - just faulty batteries in your flashlight, that's all, right? ;) ;)
