I just did a few hours' birding over two days at Galveston and Anahuac. No really exciting sightings but lots of good views of a range of birds, including birds of prey: Black-shouldered Kites, Northern Harriers, Broad-winged Hawk, Red-tailed Hawks, American Kestrel and Ospreys.

The biggest surprise was the number of Belted Kingfishers - we saw 10.

Hey Jeff,
Nice photos and sounds like a pretty good weekend of birding. I'm hoping to get back out to Anahuac before too long! Just fyi, the ABA has split (or just renamed) North America's White-tailed Kite from Black-shouldered Kite a while back.
Good birding,
