Help,

This morning in my garden on the large bird feeder table two birds were pecking away. They were the same size as a wood pigeon and about the same colour but no distinctive neck markings....any ideas what they were ?

Sorry I have no camera YET

Hi Again Helen,

They very well could have been as they were very very similar to a wood pigeon I dont think I have seen a juv woody before...thx for the answer.

Hi paul,

I would say that you definitely had juvenile Wood Pigeons in your garden. They are very like their parents obviously, in general colour tone and size but they do lack the white neck marking.

I would rule out Stock Dove or others if you say they were Wood Pigeon size as these would be noticeably smaller at close range.

Regards,
