benro gh2 gimbal (1 Viewer)

i am considering the benro gh2 gimbal to help support my
nikon 200/400 zoom and wondered if anyone out there has
any experience of this unt and would you recomend one

I'm using a cheap Chinese knockoff that looks exactly like the Benro gh2 and is/was available on ebay for £70 or so. Generally it has a picture of a hiker on the tripod boss and a silly little compass attached as well. Whether it actually is the same manufacture as the Benro I don't know.

In use it is quite excellent, I'm delighted with it. It is rock solid and supports huge lenses without trouble. Rotating the head by hand without camera or lens I can just very faintly feel a little stiction but elevation/depression is completely smooth. With a camera and lens mounted it is completely smooth and free in all movements and that tiny bit of stiction has dissapeared.

Very happy camper here :)
