Lichfield Birder

...should've been here 5 minutes ago, mate....
Immature Gannet found by the side of a stream in the middle of a forest in Worcestershire....now taken into care.

Apart from YNA on fishing pond in Lincs in early July, do records get any stranger than that?

Magnificent Frigatebird in a field in Shropshire is probably up there. Though is it that weird? Seabirds classically get wrecked inland, and although it is irregular, records like Great Shearwater in Bucks, Cory's Shear in Staffs and Little Shear in inland Cheshire are other such examples.

Funny you mention the YNA, I think it's a year ago tomorrow that it apparently passed over Derbyshire before being seen in Lincs.

Yeah, its the "middle of a forest" bit that makes it even more bizarre the flagged it up for me! :t:

May be it flew up the Severn to its extreme, down thru Bridgnorth into Bewdley, then swung a right into Dowles Brook, or maybe not?
