Hello

I am searching for books about the ecology of old growth forests (including bird life).
I am mostly interested in the forests of Europe and North America and their ecology and conservation.

any comments welcome.

Although it isn't Europe or North America you may be interested in this paper: A comparison of bird communities in mixed fruit orchards and natural forest at Khao Luang, southern Thailand

It is an interesting comparison between forest and non-intensive orchards and seems to confirm the importance of old growth forests to certain bird species.
